1Unter dem Archon Telokles; die Akamantis hatte die zehnte Prytanie inne, für die - - - S.d. - - -
2aus dem Demos - - - Sekretär war; im Mounichion am neunzehnten, dem zwanzigsten (Tag) der Prytanie;
3Haupt-Volksversammlung; von den Vorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung Pyrgion S.d. Agatharchos aus dem Demos Lamptrai und seine Mit-
4vorsitzenden. Beschluss von Rat und Volk; Philippos S.d. Astygenes aus dem Demos Thymaitadai stellte den Antrag: Da
5die auf Lemnos angesiedelten Athener darlegen, dass Komeas, der vom Volk durch Handheben
6gewählte Hipparch für Lemnos, in guter und ehrgeiziger Weise für Lemnos im Rahmen seines Amtes
7Sorge getragen hat; sie ferner darlegen, dass er auch stets zu jedem Zeitpunkt Vorsorge getroffen
8hat, dass die Städte untereinander und die Bürger untereinander in Eintracht
9leben und die Stadt und das Umland in Frieden bewohnen, und er dies alles getan hat in unbestechlicher
10und dem Volk würdiger Weise; – Damit nun auch das Volk in öffentlicher Weise diejenigen ehrt, die
11ihm gegenüber ehrgeizig sind, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen das Volk: dass man belobige Komeas S.d. Chaireas aus
12dem Demos Lamptrai wegen seines Wohlwollens und seines Ehrgeizes für das Volk der Athener und das Volk
13auf Lemnos und ihm bekränze mit goldenem Kranz gemäß dem Gesetz; dass ihm auch
14in Athen die Privilegien sein sollen, die ihm von den auf der Insel angesiedelten (Bürgern) verliehen wurden; dass
15diesen Beschluss und die Privilegien der Sekretär des Volkes aufzeichne auf der Akropolis und in
16- - -; dass für die Aufzeichnung die Finanzverwalter begleichen aus dem Dekret
17Fonds des Volkes 50 (Drachmen). –

31Hephaistia die zu ehren versteht, die ihnen gegenüber ehrgeizig gewesen sind, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen
32das Volk in Hephaistia: dass man belobige Komeas S.d. Chaireas aus dem Demos Lamptrai und ihn bekränze mit
33goldenem Kranz gemäß dem Gesetz wegen seiner Leistung und seines Wohlwollens gegenüber dem Volk in Hephaistia;
34dass ihm und dem jeweils ältesten seiner Nachkommen freie Beköstigung im Prytaneion sein soll, und ein Ehrensitz
35bei allen den Festspielen der Stadt, sobald er Rechenschaft abgelegt und das Volk der Athener das
36Beschlossene bestätigt haben wird; dass man sogleich drei Männer aus allen Athenern wähle, die
37Sorge tragen werden für die Verkündigung des Kranzes; und dass alles, was das Volk in Hephaistia
38ihm beschließt, der Sekretär des Volkes aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle bei

1In the archonship of Telokles, in the tenth prytany, of Akamantis, for which - - - son of - - -
2of - - - was secretary. On the nineteenth of Mounichion, the twentieth of the prytany.
3Principal Assembly. Of the presiding committee Pyrgion son of Agatharchos of Lamptrai was putting to the vote and his
4fellow presiding committee members. The Council and People decided. Philippos son of Astygenes of Thymaitadai proposed:
5since the Athenians living on Lemnos declare that Komeas, the cavalry commander to Lemnos
6elected by the People, has taken care of Lemnos well and with love of honour
7according to the responsibilities of his office, and declare that he continues on all occasions to [show
8foresight], so that the cities might be [in harmony] with one another and the citizens amongst themselves,
9and live in peace both in city and country, and he has done all these things both incorruptibly
10and worthily of the People; so, therefore, that the People may be seen to honour those who
11are honour-loving towards it, for good fortune, the People shall decide: to praise Komeas son of Chaireas
12of Lamptrai for his good will and love of honour for the Athenian People and the People
13on Lemnos, and to crown him with a gold crown according the law; and the awards granted
14to him by those settled on the island shall be valid in Athens; and the secretary
15of the People shall inscribe this decree and the awards on the acropolis and in the
16- - -; and for the inscribing the board of administrators shall allocate 50 (drachmas) from the
17People’s fund for expenditure on decrees.
